Adventures of Albert - Golden Retriever My Saturday Morning Routine

      Hi my name is Albert and I am a Golden Retriever. I have a great master. His name is Joe and he really treats me well. I think today is Saturday and the sun is starting to rise. I had better go into Joe's bedroom and wake him up before it gets too late. A couple of good wet slobbers and maybe one bark should do the trick. Great, that worked he's starting to wake up. Ok, he's taking a quick shower; it won't be long now. I thing I'll get his sneakers while he's getting dressed. I'll have to make two trips though. He takes a size 12 and that's a mouth full. What's he yelling at me? Oh, sounds like he's saying, “Are you ready boy”? You bet I'm ready. He's getting his car keys, oh boy, we're going for a Saturday morning drive. I bet I know where we are going; yes look we are heading toward the park. That's one of my favorite places. The drive to the park is fun also. I like to look out the window and count the cars.

      Joe and I get a lot of exercise at the park and it's a nice sunny day. There are always a lot of people at the park. I love to meet people. It's just my nature; you might call me a “people person”. All this jumping and running after the Frisbee sure is fun. You know what they say though – time fly's when your having fun. Joe's calling my name and heading toward the car. It must be time to go. That's OK because I'm getting a little hungry from all of that running. It must be just me but the ride back seems a lot shorter. Joe's turning into our driveway now. Great, we're home. Joe's putting the coffee on. That means he'll be getting my breakfast soon. I'm starved! I usually finish my breakfast before he finishes his toast and coffee. Well, we're both done with breakfast now and Joe is heading over to the sofa to read the morning paper. I'll just jump on the sofa next to him and rest. I cannot read you know but that's OK, Joe tells me some of the things that are going on in the world. Yawn, it sure was a nice Saturday morning.

• My favorite Country - Italy, everything was so big. It was fun running around the outside of the Coliseum in Rome.

• TV program - I like to watch the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show from Madison Square Garden.

• Favorite pastime - There's nothing like chewing on a good bone. Nylon bone, real bone, or rawhide bone, I don't care.

• Albert's favorite sport - snow boarding. I have 4 legs and great balance. I'm a natural.

• Favorite Movie - 101 Dalmatians. How could that Cruella De Vil kidnap those dalmatian puppies for their fur.

• My favorite Song - "Hound Dog" by Elvis.

• Favorite Rock Group - Three Dog Night. I really liked their song - "An Old Fashioned Love Song".

• Favorite Actors - Lassie and Rin Tin Tin.
